staycation.

In just under four weeks we’ve made five trips and logged 3,000 miles.  And we are tired.

So this week we’re having a staycation (wait, does it count as a staycation when it’s not your own house?).  Some friends in Columbia graciously offered their home–and stocked their fridge and pantry for us–while they are out of town, and it is the perfect staycation house.  Lots of space, toys for the kids, a screened porch that I’m in love with, and a pool.

We’re holing up here all week, and if you should have heard from me by now and haven’t, just know we’ll get back on our a-game soon.  Life is a little . . . strange right now.  Mostly, I’m just tired of living out of a suitcase.  I miss home.  And I’m not the only one.  Last night Judah told me, “Mom, we can’t just keep going to different houses and staying there.”  I know, Judah-bee, I know.

In the meantime–in the midst of it all–you’ve been perfectly lovely to us, and this week is a respite.

I sympathize! We are currently in the same situation so we just go from place to place and drag a pack n play and bed roll around for the kids to stay wherever we land. I hope this week was enjoyable!
