a few more from the week.

Okay, so I haven’t ventured out of the house with the camera while David’s been gone.  It’s been a fun week with lots of activities … playing outside, shopping, running errands, hanging out with friends.

Here’s a few pictures of our around-the-house time:

Ramesh and Maria came over this week, and Ramesh cooked his specialty: beef cutlets.  They are basically these little patties (perfect for snacks) made with beef, potatoes and spices.  They are divine.

Buddies

Wonderful friends who, sadly for us, are moving to Europe next month for Ramesh’s doctoral studies.  We will miss them a ton.

Watching “the Daddy movie”

Alison gave us this great idea for counting down the days (nights in our case since he arrives early morning) with paper rings.  It has made a huge difference for Judah, since he can look at any point and count for himself how much time is left until Daddy comes back.

Monsters, Inc. in the fort.  I’m not gonna lie, I let them watch two entire movies that day.

Helping Mommy shell peas!

I’m thankful for a great 8 days.  Alison and I were joking today about how we always make these to-do lists for when our husbands travel–as if somehow we’ll have more energy for projects while taking care of the kids alone.  Ha!

So maybe I didn’t get any projects done this week.  Or preschool.  And maybe I collapsed on the sofa and watched a girlie movie just about every single night after the kids went to bed.  But it was a good week!  And I’m very, very thankful that David will be home in 15 hours!!!
