two on friday.
Please excuse my temporary postponement of “Four on Friday” posts. My laptop is on the fritz again, and I’m currently having it looked at by, not one, but both of my tech-savvy brothers.
It’s a little embarrassing how lost I feel, actually, without my computer. I think it’s kind of my command-center, certainly for photos and writing. I write a lot — every single day if I can. Just to keep practicing and trying to get better. Okay, let’s be honest — really just because I love it. And between blog posts and homeschooling plans and Shutterfly books, I have all kinds of projects going on the computer.
Ahh well, it’s good for me to take a break, probably. I’m using the good old-fashioned ink-and-paper approach for my writing right now, and it’s a good one, but somehow my hands can’t keep up with the words in my head, and so I don’t pick up my notebook as often as I’d like.
So here I am blogging on David’s laptop; thus the above photo I dug up, from Spring 2013. Three years ago. Weren’t Judah and Amie just babies back then? They were the ages Gabe and Noah are now (just way taller).
You guys, we’ve almost made it through our first year with the boys! We’re just over a month away. Can you believe it!? How should we celebrate? I have some great adoption posts brewing in my head, but somehow haven’t felt qualified to write them until we’ve made it past our one-year mark.
I leave you with a few things I’m thankful for, on this sunshine-y Friday:
– Warm, warm weather.
– The world is coated in pollen, and my eight-year-old wanted to sweep the whole back porch for me this morning (I didn’t have the heart to tell him it won’t be worth doing for about two more weeks).
– I’m once again just a little grimy all day long from cuddling dirty, smelly, pollen-y little boys, but I don’t mind. With all four kids out of diapers, my days of cuddling are, sadly, numbered.
– Noah’s reddish-brown bedhead
– Amie got 100% percent on her Math worksheet for the first time ever today
– I ran 4 miles on Saturday!
– Trying out different kinds of tea at the Wired Goat — Irish Breakfast and Darjeeling
– My new Life Group, oh how I love those ladies already. Telling them the truth about my anxiety from the very beginning.
– I sat through the entire church service on Sunday. I felt uncomfortable, but I did it!
– David’s folks are babysitting two nights in a row so I can not only go to the wedding he’s performing tomorrow, but also the rehearsal dinner tonight
– my friend Cheryl, who happily shares her fancy dresses with me for weddings
– Daylight Savings Time
– new ideas for our home school
– friends who’ve lived overseas, and understand
– Gabe says “I love you, Mommy” all the time
– last Easter my heart was aching because I longed for our child; this Easter my heart is overflowing with gratitude. I don’t deserve this kind of joy.
