columbia

this week.

I’m sorry things have been slow on the blog lately.

Since we got home on Thursday, I’ve pretty much holed up at home, seeing and talking to no one.  This last trip and sickness laid me low.  I haven’t slept and laid around in sweats and stared blankly ahead so much in a long time.

But I think my body is saying, “Okay. You’re done with your traveling life (which lasted, more or less, for nine months, people!!!). Now you need to rest.”

And, thanks to my counselor and nutritionist, I’m learning to actually listen to my body.  So, I’ve rested.  And it’s been blissful.  David was amazing all weekend to do dishes and gardening, take the kids to church and generally let me laze around and sleep and heal.

Now, I feel like I’m coming back to myself.  We took a much-needed trip to the library yesterday and stocked up on books.  We sat outside in the longer evening hours while David grilled us a delicious chicken dinner. I cleaned the house yesterday for the first time in weeks.  This morning Judah and Amie and I went to the zoo and soaked up the sunshine, and I’m taking an afternoon out at Barnes and Noble as I write this.

It feels good to be home.

I have so much to tell you!

I promise that our blog is going to become more fun and interesting.  I’ve got some recipes to share and other posts brewing in my head (and I haven’t forgotten my February book list).  Also, our little church plant has its first core group meeting Friday night.  We’d love your prayers!  I’m excited to share more details.

But for now, I leave you with two of the cutest kids I’ve ever seen.

Happy Wednesday!
