our week (by amie).
My parents went away on a trip and Grandpa and MumMum watched us. Here are some things we did:
On Sunday morning, we went to church, and I helped in the nursery. I love playing with little kids and babies.
Afterwards, we went to Chipotle, which is my favorite lunch place to go after church. Later that afternoon, the massive LEGO pirate ship Gabe ordered came, and as you can tell, everyone was excited.
The next day after a hot run we were all very excited to go to the golfing range with Grandpa. I have to confess I have no talent with golf. The picture of me looks cool but I missed the ball! But I had a lot of fun anyway. After being at the range, Grandpa got us all Chick-Fil-A milkshakes to split. They were very good.
Then after lunch we went to our cousins’ house to swim in their pool. On Monday night, Grandpa and my brothers plus some friends from church came to watch a Marvel movie. I watched something else in my parents’ room. Marvel is cool but it’s not really my thing.
On Tuesday, I swam at my friend Rachel’s apartment. That was a lot of fun. When I got home about a half hour later, our other grandparents, Nina and Papa, came to pick us up so we could have dinner with them. We got to swim again, in their neighbors’ above-ground pool! We swam, pulled each other off the raft, and ate popsicles. For dinner we had hamburgers and hotdogs, and to finish off the fun night, we played some games. We like to play Yahtzee, Farkle, and kings-in-the-corner with Nina and Papa.
I slept well that night from swimming twice and running two miles!
This is Gabe finishing up his ship. He started building it on Sunday and this picture is from Tuesday, so he was on a roll. Plus it’s for age 16 and up, so it’s pretty impressive! He saved up half and my parents paid the other half. In our family, when you save up your first $100 with only allowance or money you earned, our dad doubles it. Judah, Gabe, and I all did it when we were 9 or 10.
Wednesday was the day Mom and Dad were coming home, and that morning Grandpa took us to the USC Horseshoe with Duck Donuts. As you can tell, we ate well this week!
We ate and played bocce in the lovely shade and grass. We had such a good time.
And now we are glad to be back with our parents!
