monday.
We survived the weekend without Amie’s babies. I don’t think anyone slept much the first night, and Sunday was very emotional too. Then she and Judah came down with a virus, so now she’s sad anyway. But I do believe I haven’t heard mention of the babies since this morning. Whew!
I’m going to talk to my nutritionist about Judah, because he’s had a cough for two months now and I’m worried he’s getting bronchitis again. His pediatrician said it’s probably allergies and recommended kids’ Claritin, but I don’t want my five-year-old on medication if possible. So I’m hoping she can help with diet advice. Any other ideas are welcome!
Speaking of diet, we saved up our credit card rewards for this food processor. We’re eating so many more vegetables now that we do lots of chopping every day, and hopefully this makes life easier. Today I made salad dressing and pecan pie filling, and it was wonderful!
I’ve been meaning to do a blog post about our recent eating habits and will soon, because we’re loving the changes we’ve made. In the meantime, my inspiration is Lindsay Nixon of the Happy Herbivore. Love her blog, her meal plans, her cookbooks.
Great news: our container of furniture has reached the U.S. and should be delivered to our house by the end of this week or beginning of next week! I can’t tell you how happy that makes me; it’s hard living in a partially furnished house. So I’ve been doing lots of organizing in preparation, such as sorting the kids’ toys in their new organizer.
Today David got 12 boxes of our books from Kenny and Shari’s attic and I worked on unpacking them . . . it was like reconnecting with old friends. We’re so thankful for a house with built-in bookcases! Only problem: there are 8 more boxes to be picked up! Aaaaah …
And finally, this little diva wanted to help me make pecan pie tonight. Linda left an extra pie crust in the freezer for us, so Ams and I rolled out the dough and made the filling (please don’t tell the Happy Herbivore about this). Yum!
Happy Monday!
