    farmer’s market, by judah.

Judah got what he calls a “grown-up camera” for Christmas (a.k.a. our old point-and-shoot) and he couldn’t be more excited.  He took it along to the Farmer’s Market yesterday and I promised him I’d make a blog post. It’s fun seeing the world through Judah’s eyes!

    amie’s big day.

If you’ve spent much time with our family, you know about Amie’s “babies.” These are her little blankies she has slept with since infancy. But the unique thing about Amie is that she doesn’t just sleep with them, she chews on them (or, “eats them,” as she calls it–see below blog post). As a result, these things have gained the nickname “Stinky,” from friends and family. They really are gross. We had two so that they could be rotated out and washed very often, but somehow, since returning from South Asia, we’ve back-tracked, and Amie now sleeps with both. Now that it’s getting cold out, Amie has a red mark…

But we’re in America!” David: “That’s right. Our friends are from India, but live in America.” Judah: “Oh. Just like us.”

    our week.

It’s been gray and cold around here, and that coupled with a sick boy means we spent lots of time indoors this week. Judah has bronchitis and is on antibiotics and Motrin.  As you can see, it didn’t keep him down too much … play and silliness still abounds in our house (Judah saw this pic I took and said, “Mommy, that’s my blank face”). Flynn Ryder (or is it Ryder Flynn?) and Rapunzel. These kiddos were so excited to get their first library cards!  I let them exercise their right to choose a huge stack of books (although I didn’t dare tell them they each actually have a 60…

    happy halloween.

These kiddos had a blast at our church’s “trunk-or-treat” festival last night.  They loved the hotdog dinner, the candy, and seeing their friends dressed up (Hardy was Dash from the Incredibles!  Sully was a firefighter!), but their very favorite part of the night was the giant moon-bounce slide.  Amie asked afterward: “Can we have Halloween again tomorrow?”

Judah to me (after getting rebuked for disobeying): “When I was in the bathroom I prayed that you would be nice to me.” Amie (watching me eat a plate of leafy greens): “You’re like a dinosaur.” Amie (after I chuckled at her frustration): “Mommy, don’t laugh when somebody’s crying.”
