Okay. I don’t really feel ready to do this today, but I am realizing I need Multitude Monday now more than ever. So here goes …
inexpensive antibiotics for sinus infections
a pharmacy within walking distance
pharmacists who give you whatever you need without a prescription
a husband who lets me lay down and rest
40-minute morning walks with Maggie, three times a week
new, almost-physical hunger for Sunday morning worship service
reminder of my purpose for living here
feeling desperately “poor in spirit” (Matthew 5.3). Today’s reminder from Matthew that that’s a good thing
peaceful Sunday afternoon cooking in my kitchen while my kids napped, to the backdrop of The Nutcracker
learning to use my convection oven
learning to use my pressure cooker
I baked my first batch of cookies in South Asia
I made my first South Asian chickpea salad
David always bleaches our produce for me
the way David serves us night and day, in the mundane, thankless tasks of produce-bleaching and trash-emptying and repair-men calling and kid-bathing
emails and facebook notes from home
knowing people are praying
we see God answer those prayers every day
leisurely dinner around our table with new South Asian friends last night
the compassion and sympathy of South Asians to newcomers
the love God puts in my heart for the people in this country
R.K. Narayan’s fiction
the bright-colored quilt I found for Judah and Amie’s bedroom wall, and how happy I feel every time I look at it
Christmas greeting from our Watershed Fellowship family that was so beautiful I cried
feeling sad but very loved this Christmas
