As the last item of orientation here in South Asia, Julie and I spent a week up north with the other team working here through our company. We were so encouraged to be with families who have given their lives for this country and are brimming with wisdom.
On our final two days, the women generously took the kids so that the men could trek into the Himalaya foothills. It was simply stunning and an experience I’ll never forget.
In the above picture, in the bottom left, is a mountain goat. We saw tons of monkeys, parakeets, barking deer, mountain goats, and a black bear. We chased the bear over a ridge to get a good picture, but fortunately we didn’t catch him. And we saw lots of leopard droppings (you can tell by the size and monkey fur).
From our peak at 6000 feet we got a great look at our next hike. Once the snow recedes, we aim to climb 17,000 feet up this mountain to a beautiful lake.
