parent-teacher day.

I can’t believe it’s already been eight months since Judah started preschool.  Saturday morning we had a parent-teacher meeting, and I was so thankful that I felt up to going.  We learned what Judah and his classmates have been up to lately, talked to his teachers, and met other parents.  Amie ate handfuls of candy and had a blast.

Judah loves his school (though he rarely admits it), and it’s obvious his teachers really care for the kids.  They do a great job of making learning hands-on and creative. It’s so fun for us when Judah comes home able to identify new letters and shapes and can introduce himself in another language.  It’s also fun that our friends’ little girl, Annie, is in Judah’s class so we can all share this experience together.

South Asians have a different way of relating to kids than we do in the U.S., and we want our kids to be comfortable with this from their earliest memories.  It encourages me to see Judah’s interaction with his teachers, and the fact that he can be his sweet, silly self with them.

From the reports on Saturday, we learned that he “loves” singing, dancing, playing and drawing, and “needs improvement” in sitting still and writing. That’s our active boy!

Please excuse the quality of these photos … at least you can get the general idea.
