school,  the pastor's wife

my real life.

Remember all those photos I posted of our idyllic school room? Remember the sunshine, the peace and quiet, the morning cups of tea curled up on the futon?

Well, I’d now like to present to you Exhibit A:

IMG_9661Or what I like to call “my real life.” Um why yes, that’s a stationary bike in the corner. Brought home by my husband this weekend, so we’d have “something for our cross-training.” Which is wonderful, because I’d been laying awake at night worried about our cross-training. Apparently the chair makes a great post work-out towel rack. Apparently I’m also not a stickler for cleaning up the table after our school day. There is no curling up on the futon just now for fear of Darth Vader’s light saber poking me in the bottom.

A friend decided homeschooling’s not for her and generously gave me these boxes of supplies. Which I’m thrilled with. But over a week later still have yet to dive into.

That is a blender base sitting on my desk next to the Star Wars dvd’s. Because our 6:00 a.m. smoothie routine tends to wake up the kids a little too early for my liking. So now we make smoothies in the school room.

And there you have it.

Also, while we’re keeping it real, we had a big group of people over last night and I realized with mortification after they all went home that I’d forgotten to clean the bathroom and there was a ring in both the sink and the toilet.

David said my ministry is to help other women not feel intimidated about entertaining. It’s nice to feel successful at something.

Happy Monday!
